The tour price is based on Bank’s selling rate $/R10.90 and subject to fluctuations.

Airport Taxes are subject to weekly fluctuations until air tickets are issued.

Deposits are fully refundable until there is a minimum 15 paying participants in a group and before deposit made to the airline. Thereafter deposits become non-refundable.

.  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30   FLIGHT TO TEL AVIV                          

DEPARTURE TO ISRAEL

Depart from Johannesburg to Tel Aviv with a stopover in Addis Ababa.

Y 1: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1   GALILEE                                  

DAY 1:  REST AT HOTEL & BREAKFAST / CAESERIA / MT. CARMEL / ARBEL

Arrive early in Tel Aviv. Transfer to hotel near the airport for a rest and breakfast. Drive along the coastal road toCaesarea, once a proud Roman port city dating back to the time of Pontius Pilate. View the monumental Roman amphitheater built in the days of Christ. Continue to the Mukhraka on Mt. Carmel, overlooking the Izrael Valley and the Kishon. The Canaanite inhabitants worshipped Baal and his consort Ishtar who were adopted by the Israelites. Here Elijah the prophet challenged the priests of Baal to prove whose god was more powerful and when he won, the Israelites abandoned the Canaanite deities and the false prophets were slaughtered (1 Kings 18). Stop on Mt. Arbel for a spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee.

DAY 2: MT. PRECIPICE / NAZARETH VILLAGE / SYNAGOGUE CHURCH /MEGIDDO & IZRAEL VALLEY / TAMAR BAKFAR (DATES SHOP)            

Drive past Cana, site of the first miracle where Jesus turned water to wine and through Nazareth where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit Nazareth Village to learn how people lived in times of Jesus. Continue to the Synagogue Church where according to tredition Jesus learned as a child and later preached. We next go up Mount Precipice just outside Nazareth, where tradition hold that an angry mob attempted to throw Jesus off the cliff (Luke 4:16-30). We then stop atTamar Bakfar a unique dates products shop.

Y 3: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3   GALILEE       

DAY 3: CAESEREA PHILLIPI / KIBBUTZ / ANCIENT BOAT MUSEUM / BOAT RIDE / FISH LUNCH / PETER’S PRIMACY / CAPERNAUM / MT. BEATITUDES

Drive through the Hula Valley to the sacred site of Caesarea Philippi at the base of Mt. Hermon and the sources of the Jordan River. Its present name is Banias, a distortion of the Greek word Paneas, for here stood a shrine to the god Pan. Here Herod the Great built a Shrine to Caesar. Here Simon acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, to which Jesus replied: “You are Peter ? and on this rock (Petra) I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. We travel down to Kibbutz for a tour to learn about this unique way of life and the settlements in modern Israel. Continue to Gennosar Museum to see an ancient boat from the times of Jesus found under the water. Enjoy a Boat Ride across the Sea of Galilee and hear how Jesus calmed the stormy sea and walked upon these waters. Enjoy a traditional St. Peter’s Fish Lunch. Visit Peter’s Primacy. Here Jesus met again with the disciples for the “last breakfast” and restored Peter to himself after the disciple’s three denials by asking him three times if Peter loved Jesus. Continue to Capernaum, an important town for a stopover on the way to Damascus. The Gospel tells about Jesus leaving Nazareth to settle in Capernaum, which became “his own town” and centre of his activities. From its community of fishermen he chose many of his disciples (Peter, Andrew, James, John and Matthew). Continue to Mt. Beatitudes. Near here Jesus gave the Beatitudes, he taught on many occasions and also performed many of the miracles.

AY 4: WEDNESDAY. NOVEMBER 4   DEAD SEA                   

DAY 4: QASAR EL YAUD / MASADA   / EIN GEDI / DEAD SEA

After breakfast we drive along the Jordan Valley past Jericho. In the horizon you will see Mt. of Temptation. We stop atQasar El Yahud Baptismal site where according to tradition Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Continue to drive past Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Ascend Masada by cable car. Our guide will take us on a fascinating tour of this mountain where 960 Jewish defenders organized the last resistance to the Roman conquerors. Stop for an outside view of Ein Gedi springs area (we don’t go in) where David hid his soldiers from Saul. Enjoy a float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea.

DAY 5: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5   JERUSALEM                        

DAY 5: BETHANY / RAMAT RACHEL / HASS PROMONADE / EIN KAREM / BEN YEHUDA SHUK

Ascend the hills of Judeah and visit Lazarus tomb in Bethany. Continue to Ramat Rachel to take a view of Bethlehemand Shepard’s Fields. Stop at Hass Promenade for a view of entire Jerusalem and Judeah mountains. Visit the picturesque village of Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptist and where Virgin Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. According to tradition she stopped to drink from the water stream on her way to Bethlehem to give birth to Jesus.  Free time at Ben Yehuda Shuk.

Y 6: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6   JERUSALEM       

DAY 6: MT. OF OLIVES / GETHSEMANE / WESTERN WALL / ST. PETER GALLICANTU / POOLS OF BETHESDA / LITOSTROTOS / VIA DOLOROSA / GARDEN TOMB

After breakfast we drive up to the crest of Mt. of Olives.  Here overlooking the Temple, Jesus taught his disciples, prophesized the destruction of Jerusalem. From here the entire city of Jerusalem unfolds before us. On its slope isGarden of Gethsemane where Jesus was taken captive. We will hold a communion here. Visit the Western Wall. Our next visit is to St Peter Gallicantu where the house of Caiaphas was. Continue to Pools of Bethesda, located north of the temple mount. The pools were probably designed at times Herod the Great for the Jewish inhabitants to purify themselves and here Jesus performed the miracle of healing an infirm man. We next visit Lithostrotos. Take a short walk along Via Dolorosa and get out of Damascus Gate. The last visit today is at Garden Tomb where we will hold aCommunion Service.

AY 7: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7   JERUSALEM                        

DAY 7: JERUSALEM / FREE DAY

In the morning we will share Scripture and worship together. In the afternoon we will visit the Old City and in the evening also the shops at the well-known Ben Yehuda Street. No bus & guide service.

AY 8:  SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8   FLIGHT HOME       

DAY 8: DAVID CITY – HEZEKIA TUNNEL – DAVIDSON CENTRE/ ISRAEL MUSEUM / EMEK HAELAH / JAFFA / DINNER / AIRPORT

Check out of hotel by 11:00AM. Visit David City & Hezekia (Siloam) Tunnel dug underneath the Ophel, leading from the Gihon Spring to the Pool of Siloam and was designed as an aqueduct to provide Jerusalem with water during an impending siege by the Assyrians. According to an inscription, two teams excavated the tunnel, one starting at each end of the tunnel and then meeting in the middle. Continue to Davidson Centre archeological site of Beit Omiah. View 3D movie. Continue to Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and Model of Jerusalem. We then leave Jerusalem and drive through Emek Haelah where David killed Goliath. Continue to Jaffa neighboring Tel Aviv to view the old port. Jaffa was an important port on the ancient trade route to Egypt. Legend holds that the founder of Jaffa was Japhet, son of Noah. Enjoy last supper. Transfer to the airport for a flight home. Arrive in RSA Monday 9th November approximately 13:20.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS & SITES: All hotel accommodations are based on standard rooms. The hotels are subject to availability at time of booking.

TOUR SEQUENCE: The sequence of visits to sites may change according to the discretion of the tour operator and guide in consultation with the tour leader, if they deem necessary. In case sequence is changed, all items on the itinerary will still be covered. Sightseeing marked (*) are subject to situation.

RESERVATIONS & SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS: All reservations for this tour are confirmed upon receipt of your Registration Form and non-refundable deposits, which is due upon reservation. The final payment is due 6 weeks prior departure, unless airlines call for forward ticketing.  Should departure be sooner than 6 weeks between booking and departure, full payment will be required once confirmation of flights and accommodation have been secured.

GROUP SIZE: The tour price is based on number of participating indicated above. Should the group be smaller, the participants will be informed on price adjustment.

LAND & AIRFARES: Air and land rates of this tour are based on current tariffs in effect today.

  • Flight tickets are based on NON-REFUNDABLE group airfare. Airfares are based on a group of minimum 20 passengers. Prices are subject to increases by the airline according to availability at time of booking. Amendments of reservation permitted but may be subject to penalty by airline.
  • Land fares (60% of the tour price) are subject to currency rate of exchange fluctuations, based on the bank’s selling rate as above.
  • Airport taxes and fuel charges are subject to changes by the airline, finalized when the tickets are issued.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: The Initial deposit is non-refundable.

“Final payment” is fully refundable (excluding the non-refundable deposits) until 6 weeks prior departure. Thereafter, cancellations become non-refundable and can only be recovered through a travel insurance policy. All cancellations must be made in writing to Heavenly Int. Tours. Travel insurance is highly recommended and available through Heavenly Int. Tours office.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:  AIG Group Travel Insurance for persons under 70 years old is included at premium of R18 per day.

VISAS: South Africans passport holders do not require visa to Israel.

UNUSED SERVICES: No refund will be made for unused touring, meals or any other program components stated in the itinerary.

PASSPORT: Valid S.A passport for 6 months after return date to S.A is required. Complete Passport information as requested in the enclosed Registration Form must be submitted to Heavenly International Tours.

Please note: If you don not have a passport, please apply within a proper time limit. It can take up to 12 weeks to process.

FEES EXCLUDED: Passport Fees, meals, drinks, wines, liquors and beverages not mentioned in itinerary, items of personal nature; such as telephone, laundry, room service and sites other than those mentioned.

PURCHASE OF MERCHANDISE: Heavenly International Tours is not to be held responsible for any item/s purchased during the tour, not for their quality nor their prices. All and any purchase will be the sole responsibility of the buyer.

TOUR DATES: As in any international flight, tour dates may slightly change according to the requirements

of the participating air carrier. Please allow yourself some flexibility. In the event dates and times of flights are changed, Heavenly Tours will not be held responsible and refund will not be available based on this reason.
